All Of Us Are Responsible!!!

Alsalamualaykum dear respected brothers and sisters,

May Allah grant us guidance and forgiveness, Ameen.

Allah, the Almighty, created us to worship him and gave us freedom to decide which way we take. At the same time we are going to be held accountable for the decisions we make. If our decisions spring from our belief in Allah following the Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah, then we will be rewarded immensely. But if our decisions are directed by our desires, which most of the time are motivated by our cultures or customs that are far away from the Quran and the Sunnah, then we are going to be responsible for our actions.
Allah, the Almighty, says, “And you will be questioned about what you have done” (16:93). Someone may think that because Allah decreed everything before He created us, we will not be responsible for our choices. No, we have to understand that we have been given the freedom to choose which way we take. Based on this freedom comes our responsibility.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH says, “All of you are shepherds and all of you will be responsible for whatever under your guardianship. The leader is a shepherd and will be responsible. The man is a shepherd and will be responsible for whatever under his guardianship. The woman is a shepherd in her husband’s house and will be responsible for whatever under her guardianship. The servant is a shepherd in his master’s money and will be responsible for whatever under his guardianship. All of you are shepherds and all of you will be responsible for whatever under your guardianship” (Bukhari).
Therefore, we all are responsible for each and everything we do. With the beginning of the new Hijri year, let’s be up to the expectations of our Lord. We have to renew our covenant with Allah by being responsible for what we say and do. We don’t want to harm those who are under our guardianship.

Let the Muslim teacher plant the seeds of goodness in his/her students’ hearts and minds. Let the Muslim physician treat his/her patients with mercy and love. Let the Muslim engineer implement his/her faith when they are building the future structures of our community. Let the Muslim writer spells out the beauty of Islam in their output. If we all hold ourselves responsible for our decisions in our lives, we will make a big change together. This change will help us see the real side of Islam, which sometimes is hidden under many stereotypes and misconceptions about Islam. We all are messengers of Muhammad PBUH to convey the message of love and compassion. We can only do that when we realize that we are going to be asked by Allah about what we did in this life. The decisions we make can change our world to a better world. A world that cares about the future of humanity.
Let’s stand together and hold hands and assume full responsibility for what we do.

All Of Us Are Responsible!!!

Jazakum Allah khayra

Alsalamualaykum
